SPRING 2026
FRUITS OF OUR LABOR
This spring, I joined Randolph Benson’s Anytown, U.S.A. documentary course at the Duke Center for Documentary Studies. Each year, the program selects one small North Carolina town (< 5,000 people) and allows each filmmaker the opportunity to find a story and tell it through the art of documentary filmmaking. Our journey took us to Sparta, NC a delightfully charming little town in the northern part of Appalachia, nestled on the New River just south of the Virginia border.
Fruits of Our Labor is a story about what we inherit, what we have to leave behind, and what it truly means to call the land home. Across three families, the film traces the deep ties between people and place - the lessons learned in open fields, the memories held in old barns and front porches, the quiet resilience it takes to stay rooted while the world changes quickly around you.

WINTER 2025
Walk for Peace
I captured these images of the Buddhist monks in Liberty, NC on Day 88 of their 2,300 mile pilgrimage to spread the message of peace, loving kindness and compassion. This venerable journey arrives at a moment when America deeply needs this reminder - that the path to peace, liberty and freedom for all will not be easy. It requires sacrifice - of comfort, of complacency, of individualism. It requires collective action. There is no time to wait; we must come together.
May the Walk of Peace be a beacon of hope - a reminder that the good in the world is still here, and that it is always growing! May it be our reminder that what’s most important right now is showing up for one another.
With the American South finally being recognized in The 2025 MICHELIN Guide came exciting news for several restaurants in the state of North Carolina, among others in the South. Good news reached close to home, with several Triangle area restaurants honored with a MICHELIN recommendation and feature in the 2025 Guide. Among the honorees: Nikos - a Durham staple and one of numerous successful ventures by Giorgios Hospitality Group.
I had the opportunity to spend a day at Nikos and sit down for a conversation with Giorgios Bakatsias and Chef Douglas Rodriguez about their journey, and what this accolade means to them, their team, and their community.
All footage filmed & edited by me.
